Not just a preloved designer clothing store
Min Butik, we're more than a rent-a-rack preloved store—we’re part of a growing resistance to the waste, exploitation, and pollution caused by fast fashion.
Globally, the fashion industry contributes:
10% of total carbon emissions
20% of wastewater
92 million tonnes of textile waste every year
In Australia:
27 kg of new clothing per person, per year.
We discard 23 kg—most of which ends up in landfill.
Many of our clothes are made from plastics like polyester that take centuries to break down.
We believe there’s a better way: slow fashion, circular living, and a deeper connection to what we wear.
Founded in 2023, Min Butik was born from Abigail Nordberg’s lifelong love of fashion, sustainability, and the magic of second-hand finds.
Growing up in regional NSW with limited access to designer clothing, Abigail Nordberg developed a love for thrifting in both local charity shops and city boutiques during her visits to the Big Smoke. She noticed that second-hand fashion carried a stigma—many people hid their thrifted finds, while she proudly embraced them.
While visiting her husband’s home country of Finland, Abigail was inspired by the rent-a-rack concept, where individuals can sell their preloved clothing in a shared retail space. With a background in Visual Communications and a scholarship to the Whitehouse Institute of Design for fashion, she combined her creative expertise with this innovative model to bring Min Butik to life.
